The Kids Are All Right (2010)

          The Kids Are All Right is a 2010 film directed by Lisa Cholodenko and starring Mark Ruffalo, Annette Bening, and Julianne Moore.  Moore and Bening play the lesbian mothers of two, played by two up and coming actors, Mia Wasikowska and Josh Hutcherson.  They have a happy family until Joni, played by Wasikowska, wants to meet their sperm donor (Ruffalo). Then some complications arise.  Until I saw this I had not heard of Lisa Cholodenko, but she is an accomplished television director.  I have nothing but great things to say about this movie.  It has fabulous acting and fabulous writing.  Ruffalo and Bening's performances are very good and Mia Wasikowska and Josh Hutcherson are great young actors.  This movie is very fun and heartfelt.  It is perfectly balanced and one of my favorite movies this year.
