This evening I watched I'm Still Here starring Joaquin Phoenix and directed by Casey Affleck. I'm Still Here is somewhat of a hybrid between a documentary and a mockumentary. I say that because while this movie is a documentation of Joaquin Phoenix's life, the events that take place in this film are only a stunt. That is what I find so interesting about I'm Still Here. The character Joaquin plays is very obnoxious at times and makes the film hard to watch, but overall he is pretty funny. This is a very touching film about an actor's fall from stardom and a parody of the common man's obsession with celebrities. This is the best documentary I have seen in a while and one of this year's top ten.
